Welcome to Kingfisher

Kingfisher Academy aims to be a light, one that shines for all young people. Not one that shows them the path ahead, but one that illuminates the infinite successes that they can accomplish.

James Gibson, Executive Headteacher

Kingfisher Academy is as unique as it is wonderful and as complex as it is caring. As a hospital school with a variety of provisions, our aim is to ensure that all children, whatever their medical need, receive an outstanding education. We have a number of different provisions, each working with a different cohort of pupils and based at different sites. More information regarding our sites can be accessed below.

OUR MISSION

To provide a caring and nurturing environment in which children and young people (CYP) can heal, re-engage with learning and gain the agency to succeed in their next steps.

OUR VISION

  1. Deliver exceptional education to every pupil regardless of age, special educational need, medical need or duration of stay.
  2. Ensure that all CYP are prepared for their next step in life, by offering insightful guidance whilst developing confidence, self-worth and resilience.
  3. Be a national hub of excellence for supporting CYP with mental health issues and their families.
OUR VALUES
Learn
We turn up every day prepared to listen, think, practice, and act on our new knowledge.
Care
We ensure we care for ourselves and care for others.
Grow
We develop as individuals, and we always believe we can increase our agency in the world.
