Kingfisher Academy & Silverdale Post-16 Specialist Hub
Kingfisher Academy and Silverdale School work in partnership, delivering a post-16 specialist hub at Silverdale School.
Post-16 at Silverdale
The kingfisher Hub at Silverdale is designed to meet the needs of pupils who have complex needs, usually involving a mix of both ASD and chronic mental health conditions. Most pupils will have been unable to cope with previous mainstream education and require more pastoral and emotional support in order to achieve their potential.
All students at the Kingfisher Academy & Silverdale Post-16 Specialist Hub will have an individual study programme based on their bespoke needs.
Pupils can study 1–4 A Levels and will access individual interventions or group interventions to support with their specific needs.
How to Apply
Admissions to Silverdale Sixth Form follow the Sheffield Local Authority EHCP Annual Review process. Further information on the application process is available at:
When to Apply
This is done through the Annual Review consultation process. Consultations must be received by 31 January. Please be aware that, if a consultation is received after the 31 January, we cannot guarantee that a student will receive a place on the A Level course(s) of their choosing.
Entry Requirements
Students who meet the entry criteria of 5 subjects at grades 4 to 9, including English and Maths, and the individual subject entry requirements, as stipulated on Silverdale's course pages, will be offered a place at the Kingfisher-Silverdale Hub.
Please note, students may be able to access a place with fewer than 5 subjects at grades 4 to 9, including English and Maths, providing that they meet the individual subject entry requirements, as stipulated on Silverdale's course pages
Please note that all courses are subject to change, depending on the number of students who apply and the availability of teaching staff.
