The Kingfisher Academy and Silverdale Post 16 Specialist Hub is a collaborative initiative between Kingfisher Academy and Silverdale School in Sheffield. It is designed to support students with special educational needs (SEN) who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and are ready to access Post 16 education with the right support.

Students are offered 2 different pathways:

1. Preparation for further education or work —
   1. Up to three Level 3 qualifications aligned with the student’s career goals
   2. Weekly interventions based on EHCP needs
   3. Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) if wanted
   4. English and Maths support for those without a Grade 4 at GCSE
2. Preparation for apprenticeships, supported internships or work —
   1. One or two Level 3 qualifications
   2. Weekly interventions based on EHCP needs
   3. EPQ
   4. Work experience placements combined to support students into world of work
   5. English and Maths support as needed.
